BENEO-Palatinit GmbH was established in 1979 as a subsidiary of Südzucker AG. As a sales company, BENEO-Palatinit has been responsible from the outset for the global marketing of the sugar substitute ISOMALT, which was discovered during research carried out by Südzucker.

The global marketing and distribution is steered from Mannheim. Since its approval in 2005, Palatinit additionally produces and markets Palatinose™, a disaccharide derived from sucrose with very special nutritional properties.
